Matthew is a solicitor, partner, and the head of litigation at Serious Injury Law.

He co-founded the firm in 1989 (then known as Sherrington Law) and successfully created a legal practice focused solely on personal injury litigation.

As the head of litigation, Matthew has represented thousands of clients throughout his career. He specialises in serious injury claims as a result of road traffic accidents and in employment; as well as clinical negligence cases involving brain and spinal injuries; amputation; and multiple fractures.

In view of Matthew’s extensive experience, he regularly assists on cases involving complex and technical liability issues, regularly achieving success on cases previously rejected by other law firms.

Matthew has a dual qualification, first as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 1995 and then as a solicitor in 1998, the same year that he became partner of Serious Injury Law.

In his spare time Matthew enjoys an active lifestyle, regularly going for walks and mountain biking with his wife and three children. He is also an extremely competitive sportsman who enjoys playing football, squash, badminton and golf.
